We have been super busy here lately working on bringing the new products to market. We spent a lot of time in August and September arranging mill production and getting new bags ready for all the new stuff coming out. By the middle part of September, we had introduced the Southern Sweet Pine and our Wood Fuel Pellets.
In late September, we also partnered up with a mill we have been in business with for years to expand our Deluxe Yellow Pine lineup. We are hearing the feedback and making a smaller bag available. This year has been tough with the competition from Tractor Supply and Southern States. They continue to use smaller bales of shavings, rather than raise prices. This makes it hard on our partners offering a larger bag. We have heard you!
Currently our project for the 4th quarter is integration. We are working on getting more products at one location so that mix/match on the truck is a viable option for more customers. We understand the need to manage inventory and dollars spent on inventory. We believe we can help our partners the most by getting 2-4 products on one truck. Not only does it make sense for the store, but it helps us project usage better.
Currently there are no plans to change distribution on Eastern Sweet Pine. Our supply is good and we sell through quickly. We are looking at combining our more competitive product lines onto one truck.
We are partnering with our Virginia facility to combine the 3.25 Deluxe Yellow Pine, the 2.8 Deluxe Yellow Pine, and the 2.8 Double Quick Pick on one truck. By combining these 3 items our retail partners can better plan for their specific store needs. This is going to be really useful for those that sell a lot more of one product than another. You will be able to mix/match any combination of needs on that one truck.
In North Carolina we are partnering with our mill to combine the 3.25 Deluxe Yellow Pine, the 2.5 Southern Sweet Pine, Gold Stallion pellets, and My Pet's a Star Cedar shavings on one truck. We believe this will offer the maximum versatility to our retail partners in the Southeast part of the US.
We will keep you updated on availability of products on the same truck as we progress. Cheers to integration!
